We provide modules from this extensive workshop free of charge to educators, so you can introduce the 9 Pillars of Sustainability and some of the concepts of sustainable design to your students.

This video module introduces students to making a scaled architectural sketch model as a process of exploring scale, form and light.

The video module teaches students to build a model using drawings or scaled plans.

Building a Digital Model in SketchUp

Using the free online software SketchUP this module instructs students how they can realize their own sustainable architectural ideas for their community.

The Student Perspective

No.9 collaborated with The Bishop Strachan School to run our IMSC program. Students were asked to imagine what Toronto's Villiers Island could look like when applying the nine pillars of sustainable communities.

2018 Community Art Educator of the Year

The Ontario Art Education Association recognizes Art Educators of the Year, honouring teachers who make a difference in the lives and learning of students in Ontario.

The Community Art Educator of the Year was awarded to the No.9 and its Principals, Andrew Davies, Elizabeth Lenell Davies, and Barb Lilker.

The Association praised No.9’s work and the Imagining My Sustainable Community program.

They represent a commitment to excellence in teaching visual arts, architecture, and urban planning – all around concepts of sustainability.
